Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste was published on January 22, 2025, entered into force on February 11, 2025, and has applied generally since August 12, 2026.
It requires packaging to be designed to minimize weight and volume, and all packaging to be recyclable by 2030.
For grouped, transport and e-commerce packaging, it sets a maximum empty space of 50% from January 1, 2030.
In Spain, Royal Decree 1055/2022 on packaging remains in force: anyone placing packaged products on the market (packers, importers or purchasers) must register in the Product Producers Register and declare the packaging they sell each year.

Do you work with FSC- or PEFC-certified paper and board?
Yes. We work with FSC- or PEFC-certified paper and board. Mention it in your quote or in the form and we include it in our offer.
Do you offer food-contact inks?
Yes, for packaging that comes into contact with food, such as pizza boxes, bakery bags or takeout containers. Mention it in your quote and we factor it into the price.
Is sustainable packaging also at least 10% cheaper?
The promise is the same: send us the current quote for your certified or recycled packaging and we’ll beat it by at least 10% with the same specifications. If we can’t, we’ll tell you within 48 hours.
Can I switch my current packaging to a more sustainable version?
Yes. We quote your current packaging and the alternative (another material, no lamination or adjusted dimensions) so you can compare. If you want to see it before deciding, you order a physical sample and only pay what it costs. If you don’t have a quote yet, request one from scratch.
Can you help me comply with the new packaging regulation?
We help with the packaging itself: recyclable materials, less material and less empty space. Administrative obligations, such as registering in the Product Producers Register or filing the annual packaging declaration, depend on your company; check them with your advisor.
